About Me

Core Values

Hello! My name is Akshat Pandey, I am an Indian student who is currently a junior studying EE and Physics at the UW. Some of my passions include soccer, reading, and making cool data visualizations. My time at UW has had an enormous impact on what I view leadership as, and it has provided me the opportunities to learn more about leadership and also put my learnings into practice. My experience has helped me cultivate certain values that I believe are synonymous with leadership in my eyes.

Adaptability – In a world where each day brings upon new challenges, it is crucial to keep up with these changes and make decisions accordingly. This is important to me because I believe that being rigid in one’s approach to life cuts off potential opportunities to grow and learn.

Ambition – To keep challenging oneself to grow, it is important to have goals to work towards and have the drive to push for these goals. I am someone who finds motivation from goals I set for myself and other plans for a better future for myself and those close to me so being ambitious is a quality that I value a lot.

Determination – Each day brings upon new challenges, and it is important to be headstrong and not give up when faced with difficulties and to keep striving for more. There have been times where it has been hard to keep going, but getting through these times has what has helped me be whom I am today and has helped me grow immensely.

Encouragement – We are always surrounded by people, each who can bring upon positive change and sometimes they can face circumstances that might seem daunting. It is here when you should offer support and help them reach their potentials. I find it very important to push others to be the best version of themselves that they can be like I have been pushed to constantly try to improve.

Realism – There can be multiple different ways to solve an issue, but knowing what can be done within the constraints that naturally exist and being able to make the most of an undesirable situation is crucial. While it is convenient to think about how things can be different and how circumstances can change, it is imperative to stay grounded in your expectations and work with what you have.

My Why

I do what I do in an attempt to become a better person and to strive for a better future for those that I care about. I am driven by growth, self-improvement, success, empathy, and helping those in need. Goals that motivate me tend to be associated with personal success through growth, getting the best out of those around me, and helping those I care about.

Future Plans

My main goal for the future is to maintain a leadership position and be able to bring upon a positive change in my communities. Whether it is my being in an active leadership position or using my abilities to help those around me and support those that may need it, I strive to make the world a little bit better one step at a time. My current goal is to finish school and pursue higher education in order to better learn how to use the plethora of data around us in order to educate people and help them make informed decisions. While I only have around a year left at UW, I plan on making them count!
